UNC Health is currently seeking a clinically oriented, board-certified or board-eligible Radiation Oncologist to join our cancer care team at UNC Health Appalachian. This full-time position will support radiation oncology services in Boone, NC. You’ll join a collaborative team working closely with medical and surgical oncology colleagues across our center. We offer structured disease-site programs in thoracic, breast, GI, GYN, and GU oncology, along with weekly multidisciplinary tumor boards, robust patient navigation, and access to clinical trials through our partnership with the main UNC campus in Chapel Hill. Our practices feature advanced technology including SRS/SBRT. We welcome candidates interested in clinical trials or operational leadership roles.

About the Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center:
The Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center opened in 1993 as a part of Watauga Medical Center. Located in Boone, NC, the Cancer Center offers a multidisciplinary approach to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancers. Through advanced technology and a highly trained staff, the Center offers exceptional diagnostic and treatment procedures that include radiation, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy. The Cancer Center also has an active focus on patient financial, clinical, and psychosocial navigation by an expert clinical team. The American College of Surgeons awarded the Commission on Cancer® Three Year Certification of Accreditation to Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center in October 2023 and is accredited through 2026. The Cancer Center has been CoC accredited since 1997. Recently, the Seby B. Jones Regional Cancer Center has formalized a partnership affiliation with UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. The partnership will focus on sharing best practices to ensure patient access and timely care. Both entities share a commitment to providing patients with the highest quality specialized cancer care and will work collaboratively for the benefit of patients in the High Country.
