A Postdoctoral Associate Position who will be studying the function of ABCs and tissue-infiltrating B cells in systemic lupus is available in the laboratory of Dr. Mark Shlomchik (Website: Mark Jay Shlomchik, M.D., Ph.D. | Department of Immunology) at the University of Pittsburgh, Department of Immunology. The candidate will be performing research, working on a newly funded NIH R01 Grant.
The Shlomchik Laboratory is seeking competitive candidates who have recently earned a PhD and possess effective written and verbal English communication skills, in addition to outstanding critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work as part of a team. Experience in systemic autoimmune diseases, long-lived B cell immunity, and in immunopathogenesis more broadly is preferred. The Shlomchik lab also works on T cell immunotherapy for cancer using their newly invented TCXpress TCR cloning and functional testing platform tissue.
Candidates will work directly alongside the PI (Dr. Mark Shlomchik) and will develop skills in a wide variety of techniques as described above. The candidate will also develop several career-related skill sets, including manuscript preparation, oral presentations, and grant writing.
Qualifications: Candidate must have earned a PhD/MD Degree in the field of Biology or a related field.
