The Malaghan Institute of Medical Research (MIMR) is based in Wellington New Zealand. The institute is New Zealand’s leading independent biomedical research institute, with a focus on breakthrough discoveries in immunology and immunotherapy. We are a growing company and have around 130 passionate staff committed to finding cures for diseases using the body’s own immune system. 

This is an opportunity for an experienced Business Analyst to put their skills to use in a unique environment, supporting the Institute in making real changes to health outcomes for New Zealanders. The Malaghan Institute has been growing both in size and scope of its activities and is looking to bring in a Business Analyst to help with performance monitoring and reporting, business needs analysis and process development. To be successful in the role you will have a range of BA skills and techniques, be proficient in Power BI or similar products, be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy and have a demonstrable commitment to business improvement. You’ll be working within a high-functioning and friendly group, so commitment to a team-oriented workplace is an absolute must.

This is a full-time position based at our facility in central Wellington.

Tohu Mtauranga | Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification which includes Business Analytics or similar
  

Ng Pkenga | Experience and Skills

• Minimum 2 year’s experience in a Business Analyst role
• Experienced in at least one Business Intelligence Data platform 
• Systems and process improvement
• Data-driven report writing and data visualisation
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Familiarity with a research environment is desirable but not essential
